Jennifer Anderson is a Canadian music educator, composer, and music technology specialist with a background in classical and jazz trumpet playing. Originally from Saskatchewan, Canada, she has spent her career working in Canada, Curacao, Korea, and Taiwan. Jennifer grew up immersed in a musically rich and diverse lifestyle that involved playing a vast array of instruments with her mom and siblings, as well as spending countless hours with her audiophile father listening, recording, and setting up stereo equipment. Today, she continues to make music an important impetus in her life, as well as others. Jennifer is a music advocate and her vision to ensure that music is inclusive, empowering, accessible, and meaningful to all is a driving force in her work with music.
Jennifer creates captivating music using a range of acoustic and electronic instruments, foley, and field recordings. Her compositions explore the relationship between sound and space, blending diverse musical elements to create intriguing sonic textures. Energized by the natural world, Jennifer's work is an ode to the power and beauty of sound, a reminder that sometimes the most extraordinary things are hidden in the everyday. When Jennifer is not busy teaching or composing music, she immerses herself in the depths of the ocean, finding inspiration in the mesmerizing rhythms of life beneath the waves.
